To Powder or Not To Powder

12 Jul

Ever since I started using or even thinking about makeup the rule was: after concealer and foundation, powder your face! So I was puzzled when I watched some makeup tutorials and the girls didn’t use powder, loose or compact. I tried to get answers as to why they didn’t use it, but no one answered my questions and I continued doing my makeup using loose powder which has always worked for me. Why fix something that isn’t broken, right? Think again! There’s always room for improvement.

Last week I ran out of loose powder and started using my mom’s (we use the same brand and the same color – Esteé Lauder Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder in Light Medium) but one day we were running late for work and loosing minutes by going to my mom’s room to get the powder and then bringing it back to her was not an option so I told myself: I’m gonna save time by doing the rest of my makeup and later apply powder before we go out of the house… and so I did.

Let me tell you, this is the best thing that I’ve come up with in a long time! I found that blush, contouring powder, highlighter, eyeshadow and concealer stay all day in your face but what I love the most from this is that your face looks natural. You just need a little bit of loose powder on the T Zone.

Another benefit from doing your makeup this way is that powder doesn’t get in between the wrinkles, I HATE that with a passion (specially under the eyes).

By the end of a working day your make up will be flawless! of course the KEY to this is using a superb foundation (I use Estee Lauder Individualist Natural Finish Makeup in Pale Almond 02).

So yes! I’ve chosen Not To Powder! I encourage you to try it and see if it works for you. And remember that when it comes to makeup there are NO rules!

Have fun!
